Sochaux 1-0 Marseille

Boudebouz Stunner Saves Sochaux Against Sorry Marseille
Ryad Boudebouz struck a superb 55th minute shot to give the home side a final day victory and save them from the drop to Ligue 2.
Neither side had created too many chances during the first half as both Sochaux and Marseille struggled to make the opposition ‘keeper work. For Marseille, Gignac and Jordan Ayew both came close but showed exactly why they have only netted 4 league goals between them this season. For Sochaux, they managed to get themselves in good positions. Sloppy OM defending gifting them free-kicks in dangerous areas, however, poor delivery from Marvin Martin ensured that nothing troubled Mandanda.
Sochaux started the second half the brightest and this paid off as a weak cleared header from Fanni set itself up for Boudebouz to volley and give Mandanda no chance. Marseille continued to grind out half chances with both Gignac and Sabo guilty of poor finishing. Unfortunately Stephane Mbia was red carded in the 85th minute for a heavy challenge, that in truth, looked worse than it was.
Sochaux managed to see out the remaining time without conceding and ensured their own safety in Ligue 1 as Caen, Dijon and Auxerre were relegated. Congratulations must be given to Montpellier who grasped the Ligue 1 title, who were one of the best teams Marseille have faced all season.
